Baby Kessler

Well I haven't had much time to worry about blogs lately!  I've been busy making a baby! :)

We are so excited to announce that Baby Kessler, currently known as Sweet Pea, will be here in March!

My friend Michelle is SUPER creative and helped us come up with this idea and also took the picture for us!  You should definitely check out that work that her and her husband do over at Industry 405. I would recommend them for all of your photography and videography needs!

This is the picture we used to announce to the world that our little babe would be here soon!

Michelle took a few others, so I'd thought I'd share just because they're still cute! :)

God is in Control

The past month has been a complete whirlwind of events.  So many things have left Brian and I puzzled, and asking questions like why is this happening?  Why is this all happening at the SAME time??

With all of these life events we've realized many things such as stuff is stuff and as long as we have each other and loving family and friends that's all that matters.

Even though I sometimes find this verse very cliche it's really been sticking with me lately,
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord. Jeremiah 29:11.

I know that God has a plan for our lives and for the lives of our family and we just need to completely trust him!

Detox Wraps

If you've seen on my Facebook or Twitter I've been promoting All-Natural Detox wraps lately.  Some of you might be very skeptical...which I was at first.  But after using my first wrap my mind was completely changed!

Let me tell you about my experience.

When I first tried the wrap I honestly was nervous.  What was it going to be like?  Was it going to be uncomfortable? Would I actually see results or was I just going to be wasting my time and money?  Well let me tell you...it did not disappoint.

To get started they recommend taking a hot shower before to open up your pores...but don't use any soaps or lotions.  So I just jumped in, soaked for about 5 minutes and got out. Before I put on the wrap I measured myself in 3 places on my tummy!
The wrap comes in a small, thin package, so if you're traveling and want to use it, it's small and easy to tote.
When you pull it out and you instantly smell Mentholatum.  The wrap has a light brown color lotion on it and it's kinda slimy to hold.  (Sorry I forgot to take a picture).

You just apply the wrap with the lotion face down to your skin.  It can pretty much go anywhere.  Tummy, arms, legs, back, sides, chin and neck.  Once you get the wrap placed where you want it, wrap yourself in saran wrap.  Yes... You'll look a little silly but it keeps the wrap in place.
Brian walked in and goes, "what the heck are you doing... you look ridiculous."  "Losing Inches, duh!"

After I got my wrap put on I just plopped down on the couch.  The Holiday was on so I was very content to lay there for 45 minutes while I was "shrinking".  You do need to drink 1-2 bottles of water while using the wraps and plenty of water the following 3 days. It helps to get rid of the toxins!  I drank 2 glasses out of my Ron Jon Cup while I was wrapped.
The wrap wasn't uncomfortable at all.  It had a cool feeling to it and resembles the feeling of Icy Hot.  I honestly didn't even notice the smell of Mentholatum.  It was probably great for my sinuses. :)

Once my 45 minutes was up I just unwrapped myself.  I still had the lotion on my tummy but I just rubbed it all in.  It seriously made my skin SO smooth.  I also didn't feel greasy or gross like I needed to take a shower (Which is not recommended for 2 hours following a wrap).

I measured myself and had instantly lost almost an inch!  The following day was another inch and just 72 hours following the wrap almost 2 inches gone.  CRAZY!
Before is the Left, after is the right!  CRAZY!

As of today I can still tell that my belly bulge is down and that makes me super happy!  Results will last 2-6 months depending on your lifestyle and eating habits, but the more you wrap, the more you'll lose!

There are no major side effects.  Since the wraps are all-natural there are little to no reactions or breakouts!  I haven't had one single problem since I've wrapped...other than going to the bathroom from drinking lots of water. :)

If you'd like to talk to me more about the wraps, how to get started, whether selling, or buying let me know!  I'd love to help you "Shrink" at prices SO much cheaper than going to a spa!  Send me a message, email (misslaurapoff@gmail.com) or give me a call (405.623.9873).  You can also check out my ItWorks website!

Lillie

Being an Aunt is SERIOUSLY the best thing!
Lillie spent the weekend with us and I just DIE over her cuteness!
She's super interactive now and crawls all over the place.
We spent Sunday morning snuggling in bed playing on the iPad. She LOVES her uncle Brian!

Less than 10

After 12 weeks I've finally hit over 15 pounds of weight loss!

It hasn't been the easiest and there were a couple of weeks when I wanted to cuss at gaining .4 pounds! But it's such a good feeling to have that extra baggage off!  :)

I've averaged about 1.2 pounds a week which is very much within the Weight Watchers guidelines.  It's crazy that just losing a few pounds can make you feel so much better.  I crave fruit and not cookies and I'm constantly drinking water, even though I didn't drink much pop before.

I've lost enough weight that all of my old pants are a little too big, but I don't want to buy new ones.  I'm hoping to have dropped 3 sizes by the time I'm done!

I've got a little less than 10 pounds left which seems like such a huge task, but taking my average should take me about 2 more months!  I'm hoping to be at a 25 pound loss by my friends wedding in August!

It's kinda fun for people to say oh wow.... you're looking really skinny!  I just think OH YAY!!  It's been happening a lot more the past 2 weeks as it becomes much more evident I'm dropping the pounds.

You can really see it in my face!

The picture on the left is from Christmas, a little over a month before I started weight watchers.  The one on the right is one I took this past weekend at Storm Surge.  See how my cheeks aren't as full?
But all in all it's ultimately not about the weight loss.... it's creating at healthier you and even if I struggle to get to that 25 loss mark I will tell myself that I have made choices and lifestyle changes that are for a healthier me!

Who Doesn't Love Shopping?

Where else can you get to hang out with all of your friends, eat snacks, smell yummy smells, try on cute jewelry, learn how to take care of your skin and feel blankets so soft you want to wrap yourself up?

Join us for a home party featuring:

Scentsy (lkessler.scentsy.us) and Velata (http://www.velata.net/)- Laura Kessler
Stella and Dot (http://www.stelladot.com/sites/britparish/profile) -Brittany Parish
Private Quarters - Shari Kimbro
Rodan+Fields - Kim Metcalf (https://kimmetcalf.myrandf.biz/)

The party will be TOMORROW, May 1st at my parents house.  They live off of Britton Road between Rockwell and MacArthur.  They're address is 9501 Ritter Road, OKC, 73162.  It's come and go from 6 to 8:30pm.  Come say hi, eat some snacks, and mingle with friends!

***Remember Mothers Day, Graduation and wedding season is just around the corner! What a perfect opportunity to find gifts for everyone on your list in just one place!***

I personally am VERY excited about the launch of Velata....a fondue pot!  It is seriously the CUTEST thing I've ever seen!

The pot is used very much like the Scentsy Wax...only it's CHOCOLATE!

You put the chocolate in your dish...then enjoy!  Here are the two awesome things about it:
1.  When you're done just throw it in your dishwasher... clean up with chocolate couldn't be easier.
2.  Maybe you didn't use it all?  Just put a lid on it and throw it in the refrigerator to use next time!

I have a fondue put and I really like it, but I love that Velata is easy clean up, especially after a fun get together with friends!

It comes with 4 fun forks to use as well!  Here's a little peek!

I'd love to have you come and hang out if nothing else!!

Hope you see you there.  Let me know if you have any questions.  623.9873

One Year of Love

As of yesterday I have been married for a year!  WHAT?  It seriously has gone by so fast I can't believe it's actually here and gone.

This has been a really great year full of learning and loving and everything in between.
Due to the craziness this time of the year Brian and I went up to Tulsa for our anniversary!  It was seriously so much fun.  It's been so long since we got away together without family or a dog.

We had no plans, time schedule and just spent time driving around and enjoying our time together.  We ate at places we've never been before, minus McDonald's breakfast and bought shoes and clothes just because we could.
Sunday morning we got up and went to this cute little park by our hotel. (Side note, parks in Tulsa are so much nicer than our parks here)  We started The Love Dare.  I'm really excited for this journey with Brian.  I think we are both going to grow a lot from it.  We sat next to a lake with geese that would just walk right up to you!  It was really fun until it started to rain. :)

After the park we spent the remainder of the afternoon at the Oklahoma Aquarium.  If you haven't ever gone I recommend it...especially if you have small kids.  It's really interactive.  You're able to touch so much weird things!

We waited until we got home to open our presents just so we didn't have to lug them all the way to Tulsa and back.  Brian did give me 2-60 minute massages to use while we were in Tulsa... I'm pretty pumped about using those! :)  He also got me a cute new coach purse.  It's a light gray when a fun mixture of patterns and fabric!  LOVE it.  B is a HUGE Boston Red Sox fan so I got him a new shirt and packaged it in a box with a Save the Date at the bottom for the game in July when they play the Rangers in Arlington!  He was so excited!

It was overall an incredible weekend and I am so blessed to be married to such a perfect person for me!  I can't to see where the years take us!

Lillie Baby

A couple weeks ago Brian and I had a great opportunity to watch our niece Lillie!  She's 5 1/2 months old and just pure sweetness.
We were talking about how we hope our baby is as mild mannered as this child.  She's super chill and only gets fussy when she's hungry or sleepy.

We were a little worried about how Millie would do with her.  She's only been around one other baby, my cousin Aubrey.  But Aubrey is 1, and bigger and not easily stepped on. :)  We eased her in to this by taking her outside first and smelling one of Lillie's blankets.  Once we let her in she did pretty good.  She really just wanted to be in her face the whole time licking on her.  Luckily Jon'Erik and Kaylee have a yellow lab as well so Lillie hardly noticed.  The rest of the weekend Millie hardly left her side.  Where Lillie went, Millie went too!
The little angel slept for 7 hours which made me very happy!!

The rest of the time with her was just so fun to hang out and play with her!  She's getting into the super fun age that she'll "talk" back and pays more attention to what you're saying to her.
I was proud of my husband.  He successfully changed his first diaper and even fed her a couple different times.
Saturday afternoon we went on a walk around the block!  Sis couldn't handle all the excitement and went to sleep instantly!  When we got back I was nervous she was going to be too hot so I took her dress off and made Brian give her water!
Her constant talking warms my heart!!!!  She's going to have such a sweet little voice!
Like I said Millie was very intrigued with her and she liked Millie too!
I'm ready to see her this next weekend!  I hate not getting to see her as often as I'd like!!

Aren't nieces and nephews the best?

There's also a new "trend" going on.  Scentsy has worked with experts to come up with what is the trend scent of the year.....like even things you'll see popping up in perfumes.  Remember what Lucky was big?  or Gap Blue?  Love Spell?  It's because those were Scent trends...oh the many things you can learn.

Anyways, the new scent trend of the year is Pink Pepper.  And it smells very....strong.  But, when mixed with another scent is works to create something wonderful!  I haven't had a chance to try it yet, but I'm hoping to soon!

What scents do you like to mix together?

Let me know if you need anything!

SCENTSY

About a month ago I started selling Scentsy!

I've loved Scentsy for years and have a warmer in almost every single room in our house, and in my office at work!

So maybe it seems like I jumped on this selling band wagon a little late, but I did not! Carolyn Jaggers contacted me right after Christmas about something HUGE that was coming out and she knew that I would love to be a part of it....and boy did I ever!

If you haven't heard about it yet, let me introduce you to VELATA.

Velata is a Fondue Pot!  It works exactly just like a Scentsy warmer does...light bulb, cute pot, but instead of putting wax in, you're putting CHOCOLATE in to a silicon dish that makes for easy easy clean up!

I haven't received mine yet, but I will soon and everyone else will be able to order one on May 1st.

If you're like me and have lots of little get-togethers and parties I think you'll love this perfect little pot!  I can't wait to start giving them away as Wedding presents! :)

I'd love to have a party for you and give you the opportunity to order Velata as well as many of the other fabulous Scentsy products! I'm taking bookings now, especially for after the May 1st sell date of Velata.  I'd love for you to be able to host a party, and be able to get these new products for half price!

Here's a little sneak peak:
Feel free to check out my website to order or to look at some of the new stuff available.  Another new addition to the Scentsy line is Layers, which is lotions, perfumes, and body wash...it smells so yummy!  There's also a new boy smell...Zeppelin.  Oh my.  It's awesome!

Weight Loss

Here's the thing.  I don't think I'm super overweight.  Yes, I have gained those few extra pounds over the years and not to mention the many more that I gained after falling blissfully in love, but according to the height vs. weight chart I should be at LEAST 20 pounds smaller than I am...so, that's my goal!

3 weeks ago I did it.  I joined Weight Watchers.

I'm going to meetings on Tuesdays at 7AM...yes it's early, but yes, I need the accountability.  My mom is doing it with me too!  I'm glad she is because if not I think I would just give up!

When I sat in that first meeting I was super overwhelmed.  I had seen my mom do Weight Watchers a few times over the years but the idea was just so foreign to me.

Once I caught on, it all became so much easier and now I'm able to easily be like oh that's 3 points without having to look up things on my phone!

So, in the last 3 weeks, this is what I've realized.

1. I don't really want to lose weight just to lose it.  I've realized I just need to be a more healthier version of myself...not worrying about what the scale number is.

2. Some people in these meetings have SERIOUS food addictions.

3. My favorite Sandwich a Schlotzsky's (Small Original) is 15 points!..Won't be eating that anytime soon.

4. 12 M&M's = 1... YAY!

5. Now that I'm filling my body with things that are better for me (more fruits and veggies) I'm not hungry randomly in the afternoon anymore.

6. My clothes already feel a little bit loose!

7. You get these "extra" points to eat every day and can even gain activity points but I feel like they're cheating a little bit....I just try to stick to my 26!

So far I've lost just a little over 5 pounds...I weigh in again in the morning, so we'll see where it goes from there!!

Anyone else do Weight Watchers and have any tips?

While the Husband was away.....

Last weekend my Husband went to Greenbay to the Packers game with my Dad and Brother Bryan.  We've never spent New Years Eve together.  I know it's not a huge deal but it's one of those things where you want to kiss the love of your life! :)

I was busy doing many things while he was gone including make a couple little crafts!

I made this I love you Because.... frame for our bathroom!  I've already written him a couple of messages.  It's fun because he gets up before me in the mornings so it's fun for him to read before work!
It's super easy to make.  Our bathroom is pretty simple but we have green and hounds-tooth towels for pops of fun.
I just got a frame I had, hounds-tooth paper and covered it with a soft green velum.  I copied the words on to the velum.  Then I used twill and just rolled the flowers and hot glued them on.  It seriously took me maybe 30minutes.
Next I used aluminum foil and covered the wooden "K"  I'm not sure where I'm going to put it yet. It's currently sitting on our dresser waiting for direction.
For this I bought the K at Hobby Lobby.  I then put it face down on the foil to see how much I would need.  Then I put mod podge on the front of the letter and pressed the foil down.  Then I just turned up the edges.  This was  little hard because it wanted to rip.  I made sure you couldn't see most of the wood on the sides.  After I mod podged it on I just ran black paint over it for a subtle effect and to cover the areas where the wood was showing through!  EASY!
One of my new goals this year is to craft more!  I've gotta decide what my next project will be!

A Little Recap and a Fresh New Year!

It's so crazy to me that 2011 is OVER! It was a crazy whirlwind year and has come and gone so quickly.  As I was writing my new years resolutions for this next year I was thinking about all that has happened in 2011! I've been really bad at blogging so I'll do a quick recap!

January.
We got baby Millie and I turned 25! 25 seemed like a blah age to me but it turned out to be a fantastic year! Millie is an energetic 1 year old Yellow Lab that keeps me on my toes!  She may drive me nuts and leave yellow hair all over my house but I wouldn't trade her for anything!
Brian and I also took our engagement pics on my birthday, right after we got Millie and this was our first family picture!
February.
Brian officially moved to OKC which meant no more driving back and forth to Chickasha 4 times a week.  The new Pioneer Store opened on 39th and Council and it's doing great!
March.
March flew by and was mainly spent getting ready for our wedding.  We had multiple showers and parties and I spent my free time getting all of our gifts organized in to our house!
April.
WEDDING MONTH!!!!!!!!!!!  Even though I had to wait until the 29th I felt like this month flew by.  I kept a good countdown on my wall and work and because of all of my over time I was able to take two weeks off of work...it was wonderful.
Our wedding was so much fun and lots of friends and family came in from all over the USA.  We shared our wedding day with the Royal couple but I think ours was still the best.
May.
We spent the first week in May on our honeymoon in Mexico at the El Dorado Resort.  Seriously...go there.  We LOVED it.  May was busy with the wrap of school at SNU and learning to live with one another...which was a fun task!
June and July.
These months were spent like any other summer months.  We spent lots of time at the pool and at the lake and in the sun as much as possible.  I'm a sun baby...I can't get enough of it! It was also Brian's 24th birthday in June!
On a weekend trip to Ponca City we did a whole lot of fishing but I lost my pole in to the lake after a strong wind caught my chair and pole and threw it in to the water.  Brian saved the chair, but the pole....RIP.  We stayed in the city for the 4th of July (I haven't done that in years) and we watched the fireworks from up in a boom at Pioneer...talk about a great way to enjoy!
August.
Back to school meant busy times for me as always.  At the end of the August I was approached by the new Admissions Director to Switch positions to Admissions and Serve as the Special Events Coordinator/BFC Recruiter.  It took a little over a month and I made the switch in October...I LOVE by job!

September.
I can't really think of anything super exciting happening in September. Just the fair like always and lots of OU football games! I was wrapping up my job in Media Strategies and getting ready for my sweet niece to arrive.  You can see her sweet baby shower here.
October.
Busy.  That was this month.  I began my new job at the first of the month and it kept me crazy busy just trying to learn a whole new set of things...but like I said, LOVE it.
Brian's cousin Garrett had surgery on his legs and was in Children's Hospital for a few days.  I tweeted Kevin Durant and he came and surprised Garrett.  It was seriously the sweetest moment EVER and I really admire him for coming to visit.
My sweetie baby niece Lillie Raelyn was born on October 15th.  She has beautiful dark hair and chunky cheeks and I literally want to squeeze her every time I see her!
November.
My first big Event at SNU, College Days, was a huge success!
My brother was also crowned Homecoming King at SNU.  Such a fun weekend for my family.
Millie turned 1 on November 23rd.  We had a little party for her and I made some special cookies...she loved them.
December.
That bring us to where we just were.  December went by fast just like all the others.  We were busy with Christmas Parties and dividing Christmas between all of our families.  We're down 5 and still have 1 more to go!  We spent Christmas in Virginia with my dads family and I loved it as always!
2012.
